A SIM card is a small card you put in your phone so you can call, text, and use mobile internet. The SIM card makes sure your phone connects to Simyo’s mobile network. It's pretty important.

At Simyo you'll receive a 3-in-1 SIM card. This way, you can easily click out the size that fits your phone. Whether it's standard, micro, or nano, you’ll always have the right SIM card. Or go for an eSIM , the digital SIM card. You can install it directly on your phone with the Mijn Simyo app. Just make sure your phone supports eSIM first.

How do I activate my SIM card for use abroad?

That's easy. First, go to Mijn Simyo and enable ‘Bellen in en naar het buitenland' (Calling abroad and to foreign countries). Next, enable the settings ‘Internetten in Nederland’ (Internet in the Netherlands) and ‘Internetten in het buitenland’ (Internet abroad) on Mijn Simyo. Does my phone have a SIM lock?

Are you a new customer and do you get a notification when you insert the Simyo SIM card into your phone? Are you using a different phone than usual and is the SIM card not working? Then your phone may be SIM-locked. These notifications indicate a SIM lock:

  • SIM invalid;
  • Network code;
  • SP code;
  • Blocking code;
  • SIM not valid;
  • Insert SIM;
  • SIM not available.

Remove your SIM card from your phone and try it again. Do you see the same message again? Then you can be sure that your phone is SIM-locked. Contact the provider from whom you purchased the phone and ask for the unlock code. They will ask for your IMEI number for verification purposes. This is the unique number stored in your phone. You can find it on the white sticker under the battery or by pressing *#06#. The IMEI number will then automatically appear on your screen.

Is your notification not listed? Please contact our customer service .

I get an error with my PIN or PUK. What do I do?

If you receive an error message after entering your PIN code, you have entered the wrong PIN code and/or the wrong SIM card. If you forgot your PIN code, you can look it up via Mijn Simyo . If you ever changed the PIN code of your SIM card in your phone, you won't be able to find it there.

Did you forget your changed PIN code?

That can happen. We will help you set up a new PIN code:

  • Block PIN code: Block the PIN code by entering a deliberately incorrect PIN code three times.
  • Enter the PUK code: Then enter the PUK code. You can also find the PUK code on Mijn Simyo under Instellingen > Simkaart (Settings > SIM card). Do you have a Samsung device? If so, your Samsung phone may not accept the PUK code. Please read the question below carefully. You can read more about the PUK code here .
  • Create a new PIN code: Your phone will now ask for a new PIN code. You can create your own or choose the PIN code on Mijn Simyo.
  • Device code: Most devices allow you to set your own (PIN) code. The difference is that this code secures your phone rather than your SIM card. You enter this code every time you unlock your phone. If you have forgotten your device code, we cannot retrieve it for you.

My Samsung phone doesn’t accept the PUK. What do I do?

Some Samsung phones do not accept PUK codes. Follow the four steps below:

  • Insert your Simyo SIM card into a different brand of phone. It does not matter what brand it is, as long as it is not a Samsung.
  • Enter the PUK code of your Simyo SIM card.
  • Remove the SIM card from the phone and place it back in your own Samsung phone.

You can now enter the new PIN code and unlock the SIM card.
