  3. If you use one SIM: tap 'Mobile Data Options'. With two SIMs: choose the SIM you want to adjust.
  4. Tap 'Voice & Data'

Note: When power saving is enabled, your device may switch back to 4G to save energy.

How good is the 5G coverage in the Netherlands?

With Simyo, you enjoy 5G coverage almost everywhere in the Netherlands. Your phone will automatically connect to the 5G network if it’s supported. If 5G is unavailable in some locations, you’ll automatically switch to 4G instead.

How can I see if I’m connected to 5G?

You’ll see a 5G symbol at the top of your screen when your phone connects to the 5G network.

The maximum 5G download speed is up to 300 Mbps and the upload speed up to 150 Mbps. Average speeds vary depending on your phone, coverage, and network congestion. Still, you’ll notice lower latency and smoother performance compared to 4G.

I don’t see 5G on my screen. How do I fix this?

Don’t worry. Try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Make sure your phone is 5G capable
  • Check if battery saver is enabled
  • Turn airplane mode on and off (toggling airplane mode refreshes your network connection)
  • Restart your phone
  • Go to your phone's settings menu > Mobile Networks > Network Mode, and select 5G
  • If the issue persists, try a simple restart once more

Can I turn 5G on or off?

Yes. You can do this in your phone's settings:

  • On iPhone: Settings > Mobile Network > Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data
  • On Android: Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode

Do I use more data with 5G?

Not necessarily. The technology offers lower latency and higher speeds, which makes your internet experience smoother. Your actual data usage depends on what you do, for example, streaming HD video uses more data than browsing.

Does 5G cost extra?

No. At Simyo, 5G is free with your subscription or Prepaid. No hidden fees, no extra cost.

I don’t want to use 5G. What now?

You’re free to choose. Just go to your phone’s settings and manually select 4G in the network mode options.

Which network does Simyo use?

Do I need to configure anything myself?

Your phone will automatically connect to the 5G network. As soon as you’re connected, you’ll see a 5G icon on your screen. Don’t have a 5G phone or is coverage temporarily unavailable? No worries, your phone will switch to 4G so you’ll always stay connected.

You can also set this manually in your phone's settings:

  • For most iPhones: Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options. Then select your preferred network.
  • For most Android phones: Go to Connections > Mobile Networks > Under Network Mode, select your preferred network.
