Sim Only is a mobile subscription where you get a SIM card for your own phone. You can select your call and data bundles yourself. On the first of each month, your bundles are automatically renewed for a fixed monthly price. At Simyo you can also adjust your bundles every month, both up and down.

With Prepaid, you buy credit in advance and receive a SIM card that you place in your phone. At Simyo you benefit from low rates and always know exactly what you can expect. If your credit runs out, you can easily top up via Mijn Simyo or the Mijn Simyo app. Personalize your Prepaid with a Prepaid data bundle and choose whether you want to enable automatic top-up or not.

eSIM is available for everyone with a Sim Only subscription or Prepaid connection, as long as you have a compatible phone. Whether you’ve been a Sim Only customer for years or are just starting: eSIM is an option. Do you already have a Prepaid SIM card? You can always switch to eSIM.

Please note: more and more new smartphones support eSIM, but not all of them yet. First check if your phone is compatible, and if so, you can get started right away.

What are the Prepaid rates?

Call and SMS rates

At Simyo you pay per second with a minimum of one minute. There’s no difference between calling mobile or landline numbers.

Credit validity

Your credit never expires as long as you make at least one outgoing call or SMS every 6 months.

How long is my Prepaid credit valid?

Your credit is valid indefinitely if you use your SIM card at least once every six months. If you don’t, your SIM card, number, and credit will expire. Here’s how you can keep your number active:

  • Top up your credit

If you haven’t used your SIM card for 5.5 months, we’ll send you a reminder email. Still haven't used your credit? A week later you’ll get another reminder email. That way you’re always informed.

Can I use Prepaid abroad?

Yes, you can take your Simyo SIM card abroad. You can turn the options for using your SIM card abroad on or off.

If you’re traveling within the EU ( zone 1 ), you pay exactly the same as in the Netherlands. In these countries you can call, SMS, and use data without extra costs. Your bundles are valid there as well.

If you travel outside the EU ( zone 1 ), the rates vary per country. You can find all rates here .

Can I use eSIM with Simyo Prepaid?

Yes, all Simyo customers can use eSIM, including with Prepaid! eSIM does the same as a plastic SIM card, but it’s built into your phone. If your phone supports eSIM, you can use it.

Where can I check my Prepaid credit?

You can check your credit with Simyo online 24/7. Just log in to Mijn Simyo or use the Mijn Simyo app . De Mijn Simyo app kun je downloaden vanuit de App Store of de Google Play Store .

What are out-of-bundle costs?

At Simyo you pay € 0.31 per minute or SMS when your call bundle has run out. Don't have a data bundle or did you already use all of it? Then you pay € 0.15 per MB. If your bundle has run out, you can easily buy extra MBs in Mijn Simyo. 500 MB costs € 5.

Can I use Sim Only abroad?

Simyo has two rates for internet abroad. These apply to both Sim Only and Prepaid:

  • Within the EU ( zone 1 ): Calls, SMS, and data come from your bundle. Just like in the Netherlands, you can use your bundle without extra costs. Note: if you want to use data in zone 1 but don’t have a data bundle, you’ll pay the out-of-bundle rate. Want to know more? We explain everything here .
  • Outside of zone 1: You pay €5 per MB. Check our zone list and the matching rates . Also make sure to check our Buitenlandbundels (international data bundles) for 10 popular destinations.

How do I change my bundles?

With a Simyo Sim Only subscription, you can change your bundles every month for free, both up and down.

How do I adjust my bundles?

You change your bundles on Mijn Simyo or in the Mijn Simyo app . Go to 'Overzicht' (Overview) and select 'bundels aanpassen' (adjust bundles). Then choose the bundles that suit you best.

When are my adjusted bundles activated?

Bundles run from the first to the last day of the calendar month. You can change bundles until the end of the month. On the first day of the new month, your new bundles are activated. If you didn’t have a data bundle before, then it's activated immediately after you order it. More information about data bundles can be found here .

The new bundles are immediately visible on your invoice

Once you order new bundles, we add the subscription costs to your current invoice. You can see the costs of your new bundles in Mijn Simyo and the Mijn Simyo app. At Simyo, you always pay your subscription costs one month in advance. That’s why the costs are added to the current month’s invoice. Your new bundles will be activated on the first day of the next month.

When is my invoice collected?

Around the third Thursday of the month, you’ll get an email that your invoice for the previous month is ready on Mijn Simyo. A week later, in the fourth week of the month, the invoice will be collected automatically.

If the automatic payment fails, we recommend logging in to Mijn Simyo . You can check if you still have open invoices on the 'Overzicht' (Overview).You can pay these directly with iDEAL. You can also wait for the reminder email. This includes a payment link to pay with iDEAL.
