When should you switch from
Prepaid to Sim Only?

Sim Only has a number of big advantages. That’s why there are several reasons to switch from Prepaid to Sim Only. Here are a few examples.

You call regularly

Do you call your mother a few times a week to ask how she’s doing, or catch up with friends on the phone several times a week? With Sim Only, this is cheaper than with Prepaid. Why? Because of the rates.

A Prepaid call costs a fixed 10 cents per minute. With Sim Only, the rate is always lower:

  • A bundle of 400 minutes/SMS costs €6: 1.5 cents per minute.
  • Don’t want to think about minutes at all? With the Unlimited Calling bundle, you can call as much as you want for €7 per month.

You use mobile internet daily

Why do you need mobile internet? To send messages, check email, browse, and stream. You can use mobile internet with both Prepaid and Sim Only.

With Prepaid, this comes out of your credit and costs 15 cents per MB. You can also buy a Prepaid internet bundle.

These Prepaid bundles are useful if you only need mobile internet occasionally. But if you’re active on WhatsApp, look at photos on Instagram, or watch YouTube videos, chances are a Prepaid bundle won’t be enough. Sim Only has larger bundles that really match your needs.

You don’t want to be tied down

One of the nice things about Prepaid is that you don’t need to cancel it. Don’t use it? Then you don’t pay. With a subscription, you do sign up for a contract term. But did you know that Simyo Sim Only can be canceled monthly? That means you’re still not tied down. If you want, you can also choose a one-year contract. Then the bundles are even cheaper than the monthly-cancelable Sim Only. Nothing is required, it's just possibilities.

You don’t use the same number of minutes and data every month

With Sim Only you can adjust your bundles every month. That way you can adjust your costs to your usage, just like with Prepaid.

Adjusting bundles is easy via Mijn Simyo or the Simyo app. Not going to use mobile internet for a month? Then you can switch off the data bundle. Is your bundle used up sooner than expected? No problem: you can always buy extra minutes and data.

How does number transfer work when I switch from Prepaid to Sim Only?

Very simple! You always take your number with you. You don’t need to do anything else. Within one day your number will be switched from a Prepaid connection to Sim Only.

What happens to my Prepaid credit when I switch to Sim Only?

Your credit comes with you! For example, if you still had € 10 credit, we’ll make sure that € 10 is deducted from your first invoice. Fair and square.

How does changing my Sim Only bundles work?

You’re never stuck with your bundles. You can adjust them every month, both up and down. Just log in to Mijn Simyo and go to the page where you can change your bundles. Pick your new bundles and they'll be active on the first day of the next month.

How do I pay my Sim Only invoice?

We make this as easy as possible for you. We automatically collect your invoice every month in the fourth week of the month. A week before, you’ll receive an email letting you know your invoice is ready in Mijn Simyo. That way you can check it first. If the automatic payment doesn’t go through, you can pay via Mijn Simyo.
